How to Use ODIN on Android by Tiffany Garden, Demand Media ODIN is a third-party, Windows-based program created specifically to flash files such as ROMs on Samsung smartphones. ODIN is used in several different circumstances, such as flashing firmware or installing a custom ROM on the smartphone. ODIN has no special requirements beyond the Samsung USB drivers, which may be installed on your computer already depending on your smartphone usage. Step 1 Download the ODIN ZIP file from the XDA Developer forums at forum.xda-developers.com. Extract the ODIN folder to your computer. The folder does not need to be in a specific directory or drive. Step 2 Connect your Samsung phone to your computer with the data cable. Turn it off for 30 seconds. This DevCamp is a chance to participate and work alongside experts in development of PHP and JavaScript based internationalization and localization tools as well as mobile applications using Phonegap and LAMP technologies. You could now send a text message to most mobile operators across the country from the comfort of your computer, although there is a prominent exception, at least for users in Bangalore.
