Northern India is experiencing cold wave and shivering. It is reported that Pathankot and Talwara, bordering Himachal Pradesh witnessed heavy snowfall in the morning on Saturday.
Dozens of villages along the Himachal-Punjab border in the lower Shivaliks experienced snow for the first time ever. Residents woke up to find a 5-inch sheet of white covering fields and open spaces. Not used to the cold, many birds and small animals were found dead.
